IT Programme Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join a progressive IT team as the IT Programme Manager.  The role will be to lead a team Project Managers, Business Analysts and QAs and act as the primary liaison between IT and the business. Your focus will be to manage business demand and deliver software change within an agile framework, managing requirements through to delivery and providing a consistent experience for project participants and business owners.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with Senior business stakeholders and the software development team to define and plan activities of the software development lifecycle including scoping, specification, development, testing and implementation
  • Leading the collaborative, dynamic planning process - prioritizing the work that needs to be done using the appropriate agile project management methodology
  • Analyzing business requirements and user needs to agree detailed functional and technical requirements and plans, drawing on input from internal and external subject matter experts (SMEs) and translating this into user stories
  • Enabling and supporting new ways of working with Squads
  • Programme management within a matrix type organisation
  • Coaching, developing, guiding, and mentoring team members
  • Amplify the leadership values and behaviors we expect leaders namely, care for people, creating an open and honest environment, driving change, accountability
  • Facilitating decision-making and negotiation relating to trade-offs to identify the highest value deliverables
  • Work closely with the team to create software solutions with viable specifications and acceptance criteria
  • Delivery of large-scale projects and co-ordination of complex deliveries


We are looking for someone who has:

  • A relevant third level qualification in IT or Business
  • Excellent command of software development and project management methodologies; desire to master and continuously improve processes
  • A minimum of 8 years professional experience in Software Development
  • Proven team management capability
  • At least 8 years of previous PM and BA experience in a role of consequence
  • Insurance knowledge strongly preferred
  • PMP/Prince and/or Agile PM or Product Owner accredited
